Getting Established
Well, I've reached the one week mark, and I have one very important revelation. My life is reading. At any given moment now, I have a dozen or more papers waiting to be read. This is not hyperbole. This is a fact.

First Day of Classes
For me, as with many graduate students, it seems that the official start of classes doesn't have too much meaning. I'm only taking one class and a seminar this fall, so I'll take this bit of free time to talk a little bit about why I've decided to write down my thoughts.

And so it begins...
I've described the beginning of this Ph.D. program to many as a "new chapter" of my life, so to start reading these posts, then, would be rather like jumping midway into a book if I didn't have some sort of an introduction...
